instant foundations
Dramatic Change
It is certainly the case that the construction of foundations has changed dramatically over the years as new technologies have evolved and more advanced materials have replaced traditional materials. This has led to a situation where there are essentially three materials that are used to construct instant foundations; traditional timber, steel and concrete. Each of these materials can be said to have a different advantage over the other although there are also disadvantages that need to be taken into account. These pros and cons need to be taken into account by building contractors and others that will be used in the construction of a building. |

Materials
There are a number of things that need to be taken into account when a person is looking at laying foundations and one of the most important of these is what type of material would be best suited for the particular application. This is obviously crucial as choosing the wrong type of material could very well damage the structural integrity of the building and cause massive problems further down the line. This is perhaps evidenced by the use of timber above the level of groundwater which can be attacked by water and oxygen and eventually rot. This obviously causes massive problems and is perhaps why so many contractors choose to use other materials such as steel and concrete. In fact, it can be argued that steel foundations have become the most popular form of foundation as there are a number of distinct advantages of using the metal. |
